What changed
The dated record of what was added or changed on the site and in the guides.
This page records what changed on the site and in the guides, with the date. When a law, a support scheme or a deadline changes and we update a guide, we write here what was changed and why. If you find a mistake or something out of date, tell us through the contact page.
2 November 2026
First version of the site, with this content:
- 14 guides, all in Portuguese and English, with official sources read that day and a “What we could not confirm” section in each. Topics: aid after storm Kristin, home insurance and storms, building permit, 6% VAT, asbestos and fibre cement, insulation aid, roof tiles and climate, causes of leaks, roofs in condominiums, the first 48 hours after damage, pre-winter checklist, choosing a contractor, work warranty and building age by municipality.
- 12 town pages (Lisbon, Porto, Braga, Coimbra, Leiria, Setúbal, Faro, Viseu, Funchal, Évora, Guimarães and Aveiro). Each has that municipality’s INE figures, IPMA-measured climate, council rules and support, what is known about storm Kristin, and a list of what we could not confirm. We only made pages where there was something local, with a source, to say.
- Two tools inside the guides: a list of precautions for the climate of your area and a comparison of the age of the buildings in your municipality with the country (INE 2021 Census data).
- Legal and transparency pages: privacy policy, cookie policy, terms of use, methodology and about the project. Google Analytics is switched on only if you accept the analytics cookies.
- English version of the whole site, for people living in Portugal who do not read Portuguese.
- Plain-text copy of every page (add
.mdto the address) and a map for AI assistants at /llms.txt, with the access rules in robots.txt. The content may be read and cited by search and AI assistants, but not used to train models. - AI-generated photographs as guide covers and on town pages, a different one on every page.
How we record changes
- A change that alters what the reader should do (a deadline, an amount, a rule, a support scheme that opened or closed) is recorded here, with the date.
- Corrections of typos and links are not recorded.
- Every guide shows the date of its last review at the top.
